New Content and Old Friends

I wonder if anyone reads these Fozzologs. Tell you what... if you're reading this, drop me a line and let me know. It would be interesting to find out if anyone's reading. I suppose I could examine the server logs, but that wouldn't tell me who gives enough of a damn to respond. :)

This Content Moves Me

I moved some content over from the old site on XMission- specifically the stuff related to my trip to San Jose for the Spring 1999 LinuxWorld Conference and Expo. That was a fun trip. I discovered about a dozen images that had not been posted to the site as well. So... it's nice that it's up now.

This is just the beginning, of course. I need to move all the content that's on the XMission site over to here.

Jeff: Online Reunion

A couple days ago, a guy named Jeff dropped me some e-mail:

    To: fozz@mail.xmission.com
    From: Jeff
    Subject: Mr. Fozz
    Date: Fri, 17 Aug 2001 16:02:04 -0600

    Do you remember me?

Note: The e-mail included a last name but I am excluding it to protect this person's privacy.

His name seemed so familiar, but I just couldn't place it. To add to it, my wife thought the name was strangely familiar as well. I wrote back:

    > Do you remember me?

The name is very familiar. Help me out.

His prompt reply was:

I don't think I should. I'll let you stew about it for a while. I'm
confident that it will come to you.

...to which I replied:

    > I don't think I should. I'll let you stew about it for a while. I'm
    > confident that it will come to you.

Oh gawd. My wife and I are going nuts. We both think the name is _so_
familiar but we're drawing blanks. Plus, I never remember names.

I have a nagging suspicion I'm going to be smacking my forehead pretty
    hard, though.

...and his response was:

Hint: Never met your wife. Haven't seen you in at least 6
    years.

Well, I never did figure out who he was. He finally told me he was my roommate during the Spring Quarter of 1992 when I lived in on-campus housing at Utah State University. Then it all came back to me. I don't know why I couldn't remember his name...probably because it's been nine years!

Anyway, it's great that Jeff has found me. I hope that we can catch up and be online pals or something. Heh.
