Whiter walls and emptier rooms

I'm older, but I'm feeling younger.
The big three one
My birthday came and went on Saturday. Not a spectacular event like it was when I was a little kid. I should just get used to it, huh?
The family and I went down to Layton and met my parents and brother at The Olive Garden there for dinner. I've been less and less impressed with The Olive Garden the last few times I've eaten there, but this time was truly a positive experience. Everyone said the food was delicious and the service was great too. When we were there, we were family. When we left... well, we were still... family.
While we were at dinner, my mom gave me a card and a gift bag. Inside the gift bag were a couple outfits for a baby boy and some Spongebob Squarepants lounge pants! Go Mom!
After dinner, Christine and I dropped the girls off at her parents' in Roy and headed to Newgate Mall to see a film together. We decided to see Anger Management starring Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson. I wanted to see View From The Top, but it wasn't playing at the theater we went to. It's been out, supposedly, since late March, but I haven't seen it playing anywhere. Maybe I'm just blind.
Anger Management was full of plot holes and implausibilities and was very entertaining. As usual, Jack Nicholson was amazing. Adam Sandler was... ehhh... ergh... better than usual. :-)
Then, today, my good buddy Chadd and I had a “man date” and went to Salt Lake. We mostly just goofed off, but we did stop by a couple clients' offices and took care of some Iodynamics business while we were there.
We had dinner at Tucci's and then went to the nearby theater to see the film Identity.
Identity was a film that tried to be a psychological mystery thriller and a bit of a horror film at the same time. It's not a bad film, just not a real head-scratcher like it could have been. Chadd and I found we really didn't have much to discuss about the film when we were driving home.
Amanda Peet is hot and proves (to me) she can do more than just look incredibly attractive and act funny. John Cusack was good, but didn't get to do much but look serious and tell people what to do. Unlike most of his roles, he isn't in love with anyone in this film. This may be his breakaway role into not-in-love-with-someone parts! :-)
Pack it Stack it
Our garage is slowly filling with boxes and furniture. The house is starting to look a little empty — especially since I took down most of the pictures.
Tomorrow, I'm going to try to complete the bathroom. I only need to get the shower/bath plumbing finished and fix the GFI outlets that don't work. After that, it's just some painting, but I think the FHA appraiser will consider it finished. I also need to fix the screen door that Kermit The Dog scratched up a long time ago. I've never done either of these things before (the plumbing or the screen door), but I'll figure it out.
All this packing and stacking is giving me a nice, good workout. I'll probably lose a few pounds and gain some muscle here and there by the time this move is complete.
On other vectors
I have a job interview in Provo on Wednesday morning. It's an interesting position and it could be a very cool job. We'll see what happens. Meanwhile, it looks like I'll be getting another distribution from Iodynamics this week. Nice to see the company making some money.
Intermountain Health Care denied our application for health insurance because of the medications I'm currently taking. We were hoping to keep Christine on About's COBRA plan and insure me and the girls with a separate IHC plan. Not gonna happen. I guess we're either going to have to swallow the COBRA premium for the whole family for a while or figure something else out.
