Coding Furiously

Posted: 11 April 2002 at 13:51:43

It's about time I took a second to log.

It's so typical of me to say my life is busy, but there have been very few times when that has been more true than right now.

Iodynamics is just going nuts. We're developing a new website backend for EK Ekcessories. So far, we're about 25% finished with that project. It isn't due until the first week of June, so we'll be working on that until then.

Meanwhile, Just Media Group and Iodynamics just formed a partnership to provide web services for Associated Food Stores. This could be a bigger development project than the EK site, but it needs to be done before the first week of May - which is when Associated Food Stores is having a meeting with all their member stores. They want to show the system to their stores then.

So... I start working as soon as I get up and into dinnertime. Then, I try to spend some time with the family, but then as soon as the girls are in bed, I'm working again - until 1 or 2 in the morning.

Work work work?

But my life isn't all about work, right?

I'm also trying to make time to work on some multimedia presentations for the Sons Of Nothing show coming up on May 10 at Gettys. (If you want free tickets to this, just let me know and I'll see what I can do.) I've tried to be conservative in my estimates of what I will actually be able to do for this, but I'm still worried about being able to get anything done.

I'll need to devote some time during the weekends to doing that.

The house at the end of the rainbow

Maya
and the rainbow Last night, Christine went to her cousin Ginger's baby shower and I took the girls grocery shopping. We just needed to get some important items like bread, sunflower seeds, Diet Coke, and potato chips. (That pretty much describes most of what I'm living on when I'm coding furiously like I have been.)

It was raining off and on while we were out. When we got home, there was a spectacular rainbow visible against the mountains east of our house. I had Maya pose for a couple pictures in front of it.

Within two minutes of taking the pictures, the rainbow was gone and the sky cleared up and the sunset was clearly visible in the western sky. Dramatic weather... for a Wednesday.
