Let's drink to good reviews

In this Fozzolog: Sons Of Nothing: An “aural and visual wonder”? Diabetes problems. Want a beer?!

FloydShow

On Friday, 8 November, I once again did visualizations for Sons Of Nothing for another edition of their FloydShow. This performance was at Harry O's in Park City again. This gig was different than the last time we did Harry O's because we were teamed up with a ski movie produced by Teton Gravity Research. There were over 300 people at the club! Talk about exposure!

So, this was an exciting opportunity for the band. Not only was there a tremendous opportunity for exposure, but a music reviewer for the Salt Lake City Weekly newspaper published a glowing review of the band and encouraged people to show up at Harry O's to check them out.

Here's the review:

Sons Of Nothing review

The show went pretty well. Like the previous weekend at The Element, I was using two computers— one for winamp visualizations and one for digital video. I debuted a new video for Shine On You Crazy Diamond which seemed to go over with the crowd really well.

Unfortunately, a large portion of the audience left after the first set leaving only a few dozen patrons for the second set.

Christine came with me and that was cool.

Diabetes Troubles

I've been having high blood sugar levels again. It's frustrating. My levels at random times during the day are anywhere from 150 to 250 (they should be below 120).

To combat this, I've gotten back into the regimen of testing at every meal and when I suspect I may be high. So far today, that's been working better. I've been keeping my levels under 170. I've also increased my nighly injection of basal insulin.

I should also exercise. Heh.

Drink lots of beer for charity!

Last night, my brother Tom and I sold beer at the E Center at a hockey game.

Why? Because usually the Hunter Lions Club runs the beer cart to raise money for the club activities. But, last night, they had a meeting that all members needed to attend. So, my dad asked us to do it. It wasn't the kind of thing I would have chosen to do on a Wednesday evening, but it was fun.

Some of the older women working the other concession stands there were asking me if my brother was married, if he had a girlfriend, and if he's into one-night stands. *rolls-eyes*
