Still no work

Mike (and bogart) won't stop visiting my home page and it bugs the crap out of me! Just because I have a website doesn't mean I want people visiting it! I mean, come on!
Just kidding, of course.
Still no offers. It seems I'm overqualified for most jobs. My experience is pretty narrow (e.g. open source, Linux. Perl, Apache). My intolerance of Microsoft operating systems and development tools is probably hurting me. My salary requirements are a bit high, I think.
*sighs*
Hopefully, something will come around soon.
I've seen a lot of jobs advertised which require my skills in California - particularly in the San Francisco, Pasadena, Mountain View areas. If I don't get any bites in the next few days, I'm going to have to start hitting those companies in California.
When I worked at Sorenson Vision, Christine used to say that I was like a NBA basketball player playing in the minor leagues of baseball. She felt that my skills were being wasted; that I wasn't tapping into my potential; that I wasn't being paid what I was worth. She's right.
Cleaning out your local ISP
Last night, I went through all the ISPs listed on the Utah ISP List and cleaned out all the expired ISPs. A lot of Utah ISPs have either died or have been bought out by other ISPs. This is probably typical in the industry. One thing that is interesting to me is that most of the ISPs that have expired into nothingness had listed their primary operating system as Windows NT and not Unix or a Unix-derivative (a la Linux). Hmmm. What does that mean?!
