Up and down

Having lunch at Subway in North Orem on State Street today.
My diabetes has been funky lately. My blood sugars have been a lot more roller-coaster-ish than usual. For example, this morning before breakfast, I tested at 90 mg/lt. I shot 5 units with a bowl of cereal. About an hour or so later, while I was driving to Orem, I tested again becaus I was feeling groggy. 274. I shot three more units. An hour after that, I tested again as I arrived in Orem: 170. I shot 2 more units. Two hours later, I was buying peanut butter M&M's in the breakroom because I was shaky.
My doctor recently put me on a regiment of Zocor to lower my cholesterol levels (triglycerides are high and HDLs are low). Two months of Zocor, even with my insurance company bearing most of the cost, cost me over $40. So, today, I quickly looked on WebMD to see what else I can do to lower my cholesterol.
What do you know!? According to the fine folks over at WebMD, I can lose some weight and exercise and my triglycerides will probably go down and my HDLs will probably go up. Hot damn!
Bathroom update
For those of you (I am keenly aware of your numbers) following the progress of our basement bathroom: We have a floor! I also hooked up the two GFI receptacles this weekend (but discovered they're not connected to any power - so I need to figure that one out). I also attached most of the baseboard moulding and painted it.
Next weekend, my dad and brother are coming up to help install the toilet and vanity. At that point, I would hope, we can call the bathroom finished.
A glimpse of Dave
This last weekend, friend and Iodynamics partner Dave was in town to (try and) move the rest of his stuff out of his house (which he sold recently) to take it to New Mexico where he is living now.
Unfortunately, he ended up having alot more than he had room for in his truck and trailer, so he had to rent a local storage unit until he can come up and get the rest of his things.
On Friday night, Dave, Chadd, Mike, and I met in Logan, at the mexican restaurant Betos, to visit while Dave was in town. That was fun.
Alright, I've been at Subway long enough. Time to leave.
