Play-doh thoughts at the end of Buffy

Too much data. Too much information. Too much play-doh to push through those little holes!
Floyd Show
On Thursday, 20 Feb, I will be in Park City at Harry O's doing computerized visuals once again for Sons Of Nothing. In preparation for this, I have created some new video reels for the songs Speak To Me, Breathe, and Money. I've also tweaked video for Wish You Were Here, Pigs, and Welcome To The Machine.
To top it off, I'm also supervising the taping of four songs from the show to produce a short DVD for the band to include in press kits they're going to be sending out to venues in the region.
Fun.
Working at work
Work has been nuts lately... and I'm loving it. Between my hire date and the first of the year, I was really kind of floating around at work. I was just soaking up information about how the systems worked and how I should do things. I wasn't getting a whole lot of stuff done.
But now, it's a whole different story. I'm getting projects done and getting them fast. I'm happy.
The light at the end of the bathroom
Remember the bathroom?
Nearly two years later, it's finally close to being finished! I applied two coats of primer to the walls this last weekend. I'm planning on getting some paint on next weekend. We've already got a toilet and the tub is in, so it's getting thing. Hopefully in the next month, we'll have a fully-functioning bathroom.
Controlling thoughts
I recently heard a snippet of Tammy Bruce on Sean Hannity's radio program. I had never heard her before and was impressed. She mentioned that she had written about some concepts discussed on the program in her book The New Thought Police. The next time I was at a bookstore, I saw the book and bought it.
I'm just about finished with this book and I have really enjoyed how mind-opening it is. What's it about? Well, it's about the facade of the liberal left in this country. Sounds like something you'd hear on Rush Limbaugh's radio program or from some conservative fundamentalists, doesn't it? Well, she's a lesbian, a feminist, and a pro-choice activist. What the hell is she doing firing shots at people on "her side"?
I admire Tammy Bruce for realizing that individual opinions are important and that it's not necessary for all of us to conform to mainstream groupthought. Both major political parties in the U.S. are guilty of trying to coerce the public into "their way of thinking" but the left is completely dishonest about it.
You've got people like Jesse Jackson who claim to fight for the liberation, civil rights, and equal treatment of blacks. Yet, all they spew is hateful rhetoric about how blacks are victims and how they should be given special treatment. They are promoting exactly what they claim to be fighting: racial bias!
Anyway- great book.
Wow! That got it done
It's been firmly established (I think) that Buffy The Vampire Slayer will not be coming back for another season after this season. That's sad for fans like myself. This season has been a bit of a disappointment so far as well. However, episode 14 ("First Date") and tonight's episode ("Get It Done") have been out-of-this-world spectacular!
I don't think I'm spoiling it too much by saying that it was great to see Willow get all "dark magicky" again and to see Spike back in action with his legendary black leather trenchcoat. Our new character Robin Wood is doing a great job too.
Anyway, here are some xine-snaps from tonight's episode:
