Post-Delta Heavy

Last night, my friend Jon and I went to Salt Lake City to attend a techno performance of the Delta Heavy tour featuing John Digweed, Sasha, WISHFM, and Jimmy Van M.
The performance was at the Saltair Resort on the shore of the Great Salt Lake and featured 360 degrees of sound from six clusters of speakers, three large video screens, lasers, at least a dozen computer controlled vari-light spots and floods, fog machines, strobe lights, and more.
The music started at 19:00 with Jimmy Van M. Jon and I arrived at about 19:30. We were scheduled to arrive before 19:00, but we stopped for a "quick bite" at Taco Bell in Layton only to wait for 45 minutes for our food.
The music continued non-stop until 2:00 - seven hours total. Hundreds of people from around 14-years old up to 40-years old bounced and danced to the beat during that time. The concessions facility at the Saltair undoubtably sold ridiculous amounts of water, gatorade, and Red Bull drinks. There was also a bar upstairs for those who wanted beer.
Sasha and Digweed were real crowd-pleasers, but I was really taken by WISHFM's darker, gothic selections. If attending this results in my buying some new CDs, it will be stuff he played.
All in all, it was fun.
Going to Boise
This evening, Christine, Maya, Lucy, and I are going to Boise to hang out with my friends Joe and Nate (and their families) for the weekend. We're going to go see Star Wars, Episode 2 tomorrow.
