Cold Politicizing

Hey, it's snowing today! It's the first significant amount of snow we've had this season. It hasn't made it to Orem, but my car had about half a centimeter of snow on it this morning at my parents' house in West Valley City. Cache Valley reportedly had to turn loose some snowplows.
I called Christine this morning and she said that Maya had already been outside to collect bowls of snow to bring in the house and eat.
David Gilmore DVD
On 5 November, Capitol Records is releasing a DVD of David Gilmore (of Pink Floyd) in concert. I viewed an online QuickTime demo of the DVD last night and was blown away. This is a very cool DVD and would be appreciated by anyone with an affinity for classic Pink Floyd tunes. In a way, it's much like a “Pink Floyd Unplugged” collection of music and includes a chorale version of High Hopes and mostly accoustic version of Comfortably Numb.
It looks like VH1 may be airing the concert from the DVD on 5 November as well. I can't find any mention of this broadcast on VH1's site, but I did read about it on a Pink Floyd fan site (so it MUST be true, right?!).
Immigration-Reduction
Last night, my dad showed me a VHS tape a friend of his had lent to him. It was produced by NumbersUSA.com — a “immigration-reduction organization”. The video shows sobering numbers which indicate a lack of limits on immigration is killing our country. Their website is pretty good in showing this information as well.
Initiative 1
While we're talking about public policy and political/election garbage, here's another thing: Initiative 1 in Utah is a big-ass joke and must be defeated. It goes against all checks and balances instituted by the U.S. Constitution. Bob Lonsberry does a good job of summing this up in his recent column. Read it and weep.
