Last day at TerraStar

Today is my last day working for TerraStar International. I have mixed feelings about this fact because Iâm sorry to be going but at the same time I'm filled with a lot of satisfaction about what I've accomplished.
While at TerraStar, I put together a new website for the
company and a new online e-commerce backend to go with it. I also put
together the totalabroller.com site as well- which has and will
accompany the televised infomercials for the Total Ab Roller.
Now, I didn't do the layout design and graphic design on these sites. Corrine over at Mindfog Media Design (beware of the JavaScript) did that.
More recently, however, I've been working on a more comprehensive web-based order processing system used at the TerraStar office for managing both internal (i.e. phone, fax, etc.) and website-originating orders. This project has turned into something I'm very proud of. The code is very elegant and flexible. Everything has been developed in mod_perl for speed and flexibility. The backend, of course, is PostgreSQL - my relational database system of choice.

So, it's pretty cool. TerraStar will undoubtably need some service as time goes on, so I'll be able to do some maintenance of the product as a consultant.
Still nothing
Still nothing on the job search front. I met with a person with a company in Salt Lake City a few days ago and he told me he thought I was a dream employee to have working for him. Unfortunately, he couldn't make the decision to hire me and had to talk to management about getting me on. He was hoping to set up a meeting between me and a management person within a couple of days, but it hasn't happened yet.
Yeah, I'm worried. The day of the meeting, I thought it was a surefire thing I'd be working there. As each day comes and goes and I don't hear back from him, I get less confident.
I sent seven résumés to various companies in Seattle, New York, and Boston yesterday. I've been sending résumés out of state for the last couple of weeks and nobody has responded, but my hope is someone will decide I'm worth looking at.
I'm also hoping my chances are improving because it's the beginning of the year. It seems many companies go through an increase in hiring and materials purchases at the first of the year as new budgets are available.
In the meantime, I will apply for unemployment. :-)
