SuSE trying to go more corporate
Just saw this on Slashdot. SuSE now has the backing of Veritas and this apparently gives them a bigger foot in the door with corporate clients. This is supposedly a slap to Red Hat. Here's the News.com story.
I've never been fond of SuSE because they don't seem as in with the GPL as Red Hat, Mandrake, and other Linux distribution companies. Their Linux installer (yast) is apparently closed-source, which makes their distribution impossible to download, modify, etc.
Red Hat, on the other hand, seems to be moving even more in the favor of the fundamentalist open source community with their move to transition the base Red Hat Linux distribution to a community-supported base called Fedora.
